ABOUT RAISE
Our mission is to create a nurturing environment that supports the development of both children and parents during the early years. By embracing child-driven play, offering enriching classes, and providing naturalistic pediatric therapy we cultivate a space that encourages bonding, learning, and growth. Before creating Raise Playspace, I was an educator with a degree in Early Childhood and 12 years of teaching experience. Working in public schools and nonprofit early intervention centers I understood the importance of support for both children and their families. After leaving the classroom to raise my children, I quickly realized the resources and support I was seeking were few and far between. I set out to make a place for children to learn through play and for parents to catch their breath and know they are not alone. By connecting with eachother and our children we can feel more grounded, empowered, and supported. My hope is that Raise feels like home and a breath of fresh air and I can’t wait to meet you there.

After years of working in medical model and school based therapy settings, I quit my professional occupational therapy career to raise my two daughters. Based on my own journey through motherhood, I came to the realization that the southern Maine community could benefit from family centered, educational, play based support. Understanding that my own knowledge and professional background as a pediatric OT has proven to be invaluable when raising my own children, I leaned into my expertise in infant and toddler development to create a curriculum of classes for families within this community. Since Raise has opened its doors, I’ve supported and educated newborn, baby and toddler families through my developmental, sensory and play based classes. I am passionate about establishing a new approach to therapy and thrilled to be apart of the team to continue to support, play and develop Maine families here at Raise.

Hi my name is Brina! I am an Occupational Therapist, a Sensory-Seeker, and a mom!
I began my OT career working with people of all ages and abilities in the world of adaptive sports and recreation. With my focus being centered around the participation of play, this is where I became most passionate for working with kids. I love the action and imagination it takes to collaborate with littles and the creativity it brings out in myself.
Some of my most meaningful activities are baking, reading a good mystery, taking trail walks, and teaching my toddler to out-ski her parents.
My favorite aspect of this profession is helping people get to engage in the things that mean the most to them - I am excited to learn what that looks like for kiddos at Raise

Hi my name is Jordyn, I am an Occupational Therapist. I chose to get into this profession after working as an in home support for a child with Autism while obtaining my degree at UNE. This experience helped shape who I am today personally and professionally. My background and years of experience have provided me with an array of skills, tools, and strategies to help parents, caregivers, and teachers maximize success around growth and development of a child. Having a knowledge base around sensory integration allows me to help children improve postural, sensory, and motor development! I also enjoy working on fine motor development, sensory processing, and life skill activities. I live in Scarborough with my husband, two young children, dog, and nine chickens! I coach Unified Basketball locally and love to spend time outdoors or at the beach- and always reading a good book! I can’t wait to meet you!
